directory replication

A process that copies a master set of directories from a server, called an export server, to other specified servers or workstations, known as import computers. This process simplifies the task of maintaining and synchronizing identical sets of directories and files, because only one master copy of the data is maintained. A file is replicated when it is added to an exported directory, as well as when changes are made to the file.
